  • The boys team scored 26 points to finish 12th.

  • Sam Ruid (Sr.) - Shot Put, Discus

    • Finished runner-up in the discus after breaking his own school record three times and posting a final mark of 187 feet, 6 inches. On his second throw he posted a mark of 180 feet, 10 inches, then on his third attempt recorded a throw of 187 feet. He hit the PR in the finals on his fifth attempt. He also threw past the previous Class AA State Meet record of 174 feet, 11 inches. Scored 10 points for the team.

    • Placed fifth in the shot put with a personal best throw of 51 feet, 11 inches. He hit the mark in his second throw. Scored five points for the team.

  • Jacob Tilly (Sr.) - Long Jump

    • Placed second and established a new personal best twice in the finals of the long jump. He posted a leap of 22 feet, 6 ¾ inches on his fifth attempt before surpassing his previous PR by a foot on the final jump of his high school career with a mark of 23 feet, ¼ inch. Scored 10 points for the team.

  • Anniston Rolf (Fr.) - 1600m Run, 3200m Run

    • Raced to sixth in the 3200m run to reach the podium with a time of 11:04.68. Scored four points for the team.

    • Placed 12th in the 1600m run with a time of 5:17.08.

  • Wyatt Lind (Sr.) - High Jump, Triple Jump

    • Made finals and placed ninth in the triple jump with a top leap of 43 feet, 2 ½ inches. Scored 1 point for the team.

    • Finished 10th in the high jump after clearing the 6 foot, 2 inch bar on his first attempt.

  • Ryder Mold (8th) - 1600m Run, 3200m Run

    • Ran a personal best time of 9:36.11 and placed 14th in the 3200m run.

    • Placed 20th in the 1600m run with a time of 4:45.58.

  • Abbigale Paulson (Sr.) - 300m Hurdles

    • Raced to a time of 49.52 in the 300m hurdles to place 18th.

  • Ashlynn Mold (So.) - High Jump, Triple Jump

    • Topped out at 5 feet in the high jump to place tied for 18th.

    • Placed 20th in the triple jump with a mark of 34 feet, 2 inches.

  • Charles Narcum (Jr.) - Long Jump, Triple Jump

    • Placed 21st in the triple jump with a mark of 40 feet, 5 ¼ inches.

    • Finished 22nd in the long jump with a leap of 20 feet, ¾ inches.

STATE BOUND: Eight Saints set to compete at the Class AA Track and Field State Meet

Eight members of the St. Francis High School boys and girls track and field programs will compete at the Minnesota State High School League Class AA Track and Field State Meet June 11-12. Six student-athletes have qualified for two different events.

Running and field events for the Class AA Meet begin at 9 a.m. Wednesday at St. Michael-Albertville High School. View more information about the MSHSL Track and Field State Meet.

The SFHS Track & Field programs will be having a send-off on Monday, June 9 at 6 p.m. It will be outside door 13. Watch this video to hear from seniors about their goals for their final track meet as Saints.

  • Wyatt Lind (Sr.) - High Jump, Triple Jump

  • Abbigale Paulson (Sr.) - 300m Hurdles

Student-Athlete notes:

  • Wyatt Lind enters the triple jump with the third best qualifying jump in the field at 43 feet, 10 inches. He qualified in the high jump with a mark of 6 feet, 3 inches. Lind competed in both events at last year’s state meet and was seventh in the high jump.

  • Abbigale Paulson posted a time of 48.84 at the section meet and will race in heat 3 of the prelims at state. Her personal best time is 46.72.

  • Sam Ruid enters the discus throw with the fifth best qualifying mark at 164 feet, 2 inches (section champion). Earlier in the season he broke the school record for discus with a throw of 179 feet, 2 inches. His shot put throw of 51 feet, 4 inches (section champion) is good for eighth in the field. He qualified for state in both events last year and was seventh in the discus.

  • Jacob Tilly enters the long jump with a mark of 20 feet, 11 inches at the section meet. He competed in the event at last year’s state event and placed fourth.

  • Charles Narcum ranks 14th in the triple jump with a leap of 42 feet, 7 inches in the section meet. He is 14th in the long jump with a mark of 21 feet, 4 inches. Narcum competed in the triple jump at last year’s state meet.

  • Ashlynn Mold produced two personal best performances at the section meet to qualify for her first state meet. She jumped a mark of 5 feet, 2 inches in the high jump and 35 feet, 4 ½ inches in the triple jump (section champion).

  • Anniston Rolf owns the fourth fastest qualifying time in the girls 3200m run with a school record time of 11:01.41. The record was previously held by Tina Forthmiller who set it in 1991. Rolf raced to a time of 5:15.91 in the 1600m at the section meet and is making her second straight appearance at the state meet in the event.

  • Ryder Mold ran a personal best time of 9:47.46 in the section meet to qualify for his first track and field state appearance. He is the only 8th grader in the field of the 3200m and 1600m races (no 9th graders in either fields).
