St. Francis High School students earn recognition at Minnesota DECA State Career Development Conference. 

12 students from St. Francis High School participated in the annual Minnesota DECA State Career Development Conference in Minneapolis, MN, March 10-12, 2024. 

During the school year, approximately 5,000 Minnesota DECA members take part in the organization's competitive events program, allowing them to compete in over 60 events focused in the areas of entrepreneurship, finance, hospitality, marketing and other related fields. The competitions are designed to simulate real-life business scenarios and test students’ academic understanding and skills development. After qualifying earlier this year, district winners put their talents to the test during the State Career Development Conference. 

Students receiving state recognition include: 

Jack Humphrey – Employment Interview  – 1st place

Ava Randall - Hotel & Lodging Management Series  - 7th place

Julian Kelcher - Principles of Finance - 7th place

Joseph Zandlo - Marketing Communications - 10th place 

Rowan Anderson - Top test taker in the Business Management and Administration Cluster Exam

Teagan Harmon - Top test taker in the Business Management and Administration Cluster Exam

Ava Randall - Outstanding DECA Member

Sophia Lund - Outstanding DECA Member 

This April, Jack Humphrey will travel to Anaheim, CA to participate in a leadership academy.  More than 20,000 top students from around the world will attend the International Career Development Conference – the pinnacle of DECA competition.
