Robotics State

Minnesota has 191 Robotics teams. Out of those 191, only the top 36 teams qualify for State.

St. Francis' Mechanical Masterminds Team 7068 placed 3rd alliance in both regionals in Duluth and Minneapolis back in March and April, which helped them qualify.

The team was ranked #21 going into the State Tournament. At the end of the day Saturday the was ranked #9.

Out of 8 qualification matches, the Mechanical Masterminds won 7, the best for all teams. Every other team lost at least 2 matches, so this was huge for our team.

However, only the top 4 teams became alliance captains and were able to pick their alliance members. The Mechanical Masterminds were not chosen, but ended up being a backup robot in case one of those teams broke down.

Even though they did not get to play in the finals, the team still did a great job and finished higher than it expected.

The team would like to say thank you all for your support and kind words throughout the past couple of months! And also thank you also to their sponsors, mentors and parents. Without them, the program would not be as successful as it has been!
