Vision testing will occur in: Kindergarten, grades 1- 5,  7 and 10
Hearing testing will occur in: Kindergarten and grades 1, 3, 5, 7 and 10 
Scoliosis testing for girls occurs in grades 5 and 7. Boys have scoliosis testing in grade 8

Please refer to the printed 12 month St. Francis Area Schools Calendar for school screening days.

• Parents will be contacted following the screening only if a referral is recommended.

• A reminder that school screenings are just screenings. Professional eye & ear exams are recommended if you have a concern regarding your child's vision and/or hearing 

• Parents may also contact their child's Health Office anytime during the school year to request a vision or hearing screening. 

• We are always in need of volunteers to assist with the vision and hearing screening done in our elementary schools. You can call the health office at your child's school if you would like to help us. Screenings are usually done in September, October, and November. The screening dates are posted each year in the School Calendar. Please check your calendar for screenings for you school.
