On Thursday morning, May 31, a St. Francis Middle School student observed an object that resembled a weapon in a backpack while riding the bus to school. The middle school student who observed the object immediately reported this to the SFMS principal. The St. Francis Police were called in to investigate. Two ninth grade students at St. Francis High School had arranged to buy and sell parts to a paintball gun with absolutely no intention to do harm. The high school students will face disciplinary action following school protocol. St. Francis Area Schools takes all matters involving student safety very seriously and are proud of our students for reporting the information promptly. The information reported led to a timely resolution without incident.
