St. Francis Area Schools is committed to timely, ongoing communication regarding decisions that impact school in response to the quickly developing nature of Coronavirus, or COVID-19.
The District is following direction from the Governor’s office and the Minnesota Department of Education (MDE) and expert guidance from the Minnesota Department of Health (MDH) and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).
Decisions may be made quickly and St. Francis Area Schools is committed to informing families, staff and the community of the situation.

COVID-19 Symptoms, Testing and What to Do Next
- More common: fever greater than or equal to 100.4° F, new onset and/or worsening cough, difficulty breathing, new loss of taste or smell.
Less common: sore throat, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, chills, muscle pain, excessive fatigue, new onset of severe headache, new onset of nasal congestion or runny nose.
The Minnesota Department of Health has compiled an excellent reference for parents: COVID-19 Decision Tree for People in Schools, Youth, and Child Care Programs - These symptoms may appear 2-14 days after you are exposed to the virus that causes COVID-19.
- Not everyone with COVID-19 has all of these symptoms, and some people may not have any symptoms.
- Talk to your health care provider if you have questions or concerns about symptoms.

Please contact the Health Services staff member in your student's school if your student has contracted COVID-19 or has come in contact with someone who has contracted COVID-19.
