CCES eNews | Cedar Creek Elementary School St. Francis Area Schools November 13, 2019 SPOTLIGHT SCHOOL NEWS ![]() Thanksgiving Baskets CCES is sponsoring a Thanksgiving Basket project for families in need at our school. These baskets will be provided without cost to families. We will be providing a basket with all the "fixings" needed for a Thanksgiving dinner. If you would like to donate items for the baskets, please send donations with your student to their classroom the week of November 18 - 22. For each item that is brought to school, children will be given a paper feather to "dress" a large paper turkey. Suggested items include: canned sweet potatoes, canned vegetables, canned cranberries, stuffing, canned or packet gravy, jello, pudding, pickles/olives, pie filling, ready made pie crust (not frozen), canned fruit, hot cocoa mix, marshmallows, etc. Please send only non-perishable foods which have not expired. WE CANNOT GIVE AWAY EXPIRED FOOD. If you would like to receive a basket, please fill out the THANKSGIVING BASKET REQUEST FORM and return it to your child's teacher by Wednesday, November 20, 2019. Baskets will be picked up at CCES on Monday, November 25, 2019 from 11:00 am - 6:00 pm. If baskets are not picked up that Monday by 6:00 pm, it will be given to another family, as we cannot keep the food overnight.
![]() Winter Weather Information for Parents Recess is important for our students, so whenever possible, we will have students playing outside for recess unless the temperature or windchill is below zero. Proper outerwear should include boots, hats, gloves or mittens, a warm coat, and snow pants. If your student waits for the bus, they should also be dressed appropriately. Finally, please label your child's belongings - it is the best way to be sure it gets returned quickly.
