Time for Kindness

Picture Retake Day is This Wednesday!
If you missed picture day or would like retakes, mark your calendar for this Wednesday, October 17. Visit mylifetouch.com and enter Picture Day ID: MI218084Y1 to order online. Order forms for cash or check payments can be found in the office. Make sure to bring back your current package if you are requesting retakes.

End of Day Pick Up

We would like to thank everyone for their patience as we fine-tooth our end-of-day pick-up process. We ask that once doors are open, you remain in a single file line in the main hallway. As you approach the front of the line, we will have your student meet you. Please do not call for your student from the middle of the line. The line will move quickly when the established process is followed by all. Thank you in advance for your cooperation.

School Board Candidate Forum

On Tuesday, October 30 at 7:00 pm the Community Education Advisory Council will host a forum at the district office giving community members an opportunity to ask questions of the school board candidates on the November 6 election ballot.  The moderator will ask questions from the audience and received email questions. If you have a question you would like addressed at the forum, email  jbbdanderson@msn.com.  Also, don't forget to take the time to vote on Tuesday, November 6.

If you have not already done so, it's time to sign up for fall conferences. Conferences will be held on Monday, October 29 and Thursday, November 1. To sign up, go to myconferencetime.com/eastbethel, select your student's teacher, pick an available time, enter the necessary information, click "Sign Up for Your Conference" and your done.

Our book fair will also be open during conferences. Plan on a few extra minutes to support our school and find that perfect book!

Book Walk
You won't want to miss our book walk on Tuesday, October 30 from 6-7 p.m. This is a great way to hang out with friends, get some exercise, and best of all win a free book! Stick around after for a holiday movie from 7-7:30 p.m. in the gym. Feel free to wearr your Halloween costume for extra fun!

Costume Day
EBE will be allowing costumes on Wednesday, October 31. All classrooms will be participating. Wearing a costume is entirely optional and is a family decision. A few reminders to keep the day fun and not interfere with education:

  • No scary costumes
  • No masks or excessive face painting
  • No weapons, even fake ones
  • Shoes must be worn

If your child will be participating, they should wear their costume to school and be able to have it on until they come home.

This month, EBE has spent time talking with students about kindness. In our halls and classrooms, we have posted how we all can spread a little kindness each day to help keep others and our community positive. Take some time and ask your student how they spread a little kindness today and how it made them feel. Here is what we have shared with our students:

Know that your words are powerful

Take Initiative to put others first

                 Nice is the NEW cool

                 Do something kind each day

No act, however small is wasted

                   Never Expect anything in return

                 Speak words that empower others

Always See the good in other people

It's amazing how a little kindness goes a long way.
